For the first time, we invite our alumni community to submit nominations for the esteemed St. Augustine Medal Award.
About St. Augustine:
Before his conversion, St. Augustine lived a life centered on worldly pursuits, including parties, pride, and other vices. Though raised in a Christian household and renowned as one of the most intelligent men of his era, his sins of impurity and arrogance clouded his understanding of Divine Truth.
Inspired by the teachings of St. Ambrose, St. Augustine experienced a profound spiritual transformation through prayer and self-reflection. He became a devout priest, bishop, and one of the Catholic Church’s most influential theologians and writers. St. Augustine practiced a life of poverty, deep devotion, and charity. He also founded the Augustinian Order, which founded Monsignor Bonner Catholic High School for Boys.
About the St. Augustine Medal:
Established in 1987 by the Monsignor Bonner Theology Department, this award commemorates the 1600th anniversary of St. Augustine’s conversion. It is presented annually to both a graduating senior boy and a Bonner alumnus who exemplifies the Christian way of life in today’s world. The award recognizes individuals whose lives reflect the same commitment to Christ that St. Augustine demonstrated in the 4th and 5th centuries.
Nominate a Fellow Bonner Alumnus:
We are excited to open nominations to honor the legacy of St. Augustine and recognize an outstanding male alumnus who embodies his spirit of faith, transformation, and dedication to Christian values.
Please help us celebrate those who inspire us by living their faith in action!
